Tech Leaks: Samsung Galaxy Alpha, The Would-Be Metal Clad GALAXY S5. Could this Samsung Galaxy Alpha be the long awaited metal slate Galaxy device from Samsung that we yearn for? A couple of images of what it appears to be the unannounced Samsung Galaxy Alpha had surfaced online. The images were first seen at a Vietnamese tech news website named Tinhte. These few images might not be detailed but it show cases the front and the back of the device including the battery housing. Metal or not, the design language of the phone is apparent to the recent Samsung devices with the dotted back cover and the oblong home button. Turning over to the back, you’ll see a logo of the LTE-Advanced found in South Korea that offers an ultra fast 4G connectivity. Samsung’s heart rate sensor doesn’t seem like it was a one-time deal as it is also found next to the camera sensor in a different position compared to the Galaxy S5. The specs are allegedly high-end with a display resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, a 16 megapixel camera, and 3GB of RAM. With the recent trend of other high-end flagship device, the phone might boast the cutting-edge quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor by Qualcomm. Although IFA 2014 is coming in early September, the device is rumoured to launch in August. Still, there are possibilities that the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is going to launch in the event alongside with the Galaxy Note 4 and Samsung’s own virtual-reality headset.
