Technical Adviser – All-rounder in Offshore Operations & Construction Category | IMCA News 25 April 2013 Job description IMCA, the influential international trade association representing offshore, marine and underwater engineering companies is seeking a technical adviser to join the technical team supporting and implementing IMCA’s wide-ranging work programme. The role would suit an offshore professional such as a master or DPO, deck officer, engineer, offshore diving supervisor or someone with extensive experience and knowledge of offshore marine construction or diving operations wishing to be shore based. Experience of dynamic positioning in any of these roles would be an advantage. Having responsibility for developing technical guidance, briefing members and co-ordinating committee work, the technical adviser will work closely with the Technical Director, and their key duties will be: Taking a lead role in the development of technical guidance and provision of advice to the Technical Director and IMCA members Liaising with IMCA members on a worldwide basis Presenting IMCA and its members with third party organisations – regulators, professional bodies, clients and others Briefing for the Chief Executive and Technical Director on draft reports received from consultants, own work items and other areas of personal expertise Co-ordinating IMCA committees, workgroups and sub-groups, including preparing agendas and minutes Monitoring regulatory and technical developments which may affect IMCA members, briefing and lobbying as appropriate Promoting membership to relevant organisations Preparing the technical programme for IMCA seminars and other events, including chairman and speaker liaison Liaising with other members of the technical and support teams Travelling nationally and internationally to meetings and events Specific areas of responsibility, depending on the technical expertise, could include: Providing input on marine and dynamic positioning (DP) issues Providing input on offshore diving issues Providing input on regulatory issues Management of specific work, for example, technical workgroups Skills/Qualifications A formal (or by experience) professional marine, engineering or diving qualification Significant experience and knowledge of offshore operations First class communications / presentation skills (written and verbal) Top level personal skills in representing IMCA and presenting our point of view Ability to work unsupervised or in a small team If you wish to apply for the above role, please email your CV together with a covering letter to Kylie.Griffiths@IMCA-int Applicants must be authorised to work in the UK/EU - valid work permit or UK/EU passport. apply via source imca-int/news/2013/4/25/imca-is-looking-for-a-new-technical-advisor-to-join-our-team.aspx
