Technique of the week: Reverse Monkey (Dao Nian Hou). The main movement of this technique is the pulling action of the retreating hand, rather than the pushing hand. Remember to leave the front hand there until you have planted the back foot. Then use the sinking action of the core abdominal muscles (Dan tian) and a slight 45degree rotation of the body to drive the pulling action. Your arm should move back in a lower arching curve. Only pull the arm as far back as until your hand is just under the belly button. As you set your weight on the back leg, imagine that there is a chair underneath you and you are about to sit on it. youtu.be/JRLWCLTfQ1E
