Teenage trader Tommie aims to crack online market – with £815 (and counting) bottle of Lucozade on eBay Schoolboy entrepreneur Tommie Rose is bidding to crack the world of online business by trading the remainder of his sweet-toothed goods on auction website eBay. The 15-year-old made international headlines after the M.E.N. revealed how his ‘black market’ tuck shop selling sweets, crisps and drinks at school raked in more than £14,000. Now Tommie, a pupil at Salford’s Buile Hill High School who lives with his family in Ordsall, is closing down the business and branching out to the worldwide web in a bid to sell the rest of his stock. He has posted a ‘signed’ bottle of orange-flavoured Lucozade on eBay – and the current highest bid out of a total of 64 submitted is a startling £815. Tommie, who is facing the threat of suspension from the school for breaching its healthy-eating policies, said it was a ‘limited piece’ and he was only signing two bottles to go up on the site. A blurb on eBay says: “1 bottle of orange Lucozade signed by me, Tommie Rose. I’m the young businessman who has been all over the Press in last few days, in every national newspaper and trending on Twitter and Facebook.
