Teenager identified – Wentworth Falls A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner after the body of a boy was recovered from Wentworth Falls Lake. Just after 5pm yesterday (Wednesday 23 April 2014), emergency services were called to the lake on Sinclair Crescent, after reports a 16-year-old boy had disappeared under the water. Police have been told the teenager was fishing by the lake with his younger brother when he entered the water to retrieve a fish. He started to struggle and went under the water. The boy’s brother and another fisherman entered the water to assist him, but despite their best efforts were unable to hold him up. Officers from Police Rescue, the Diving Unit, Marine Area Command - NSW Police Force, and Blue Mountains LAC - NSW Police Force commenced a search. Shortly after 10.30pm, the 16-year-old’s body was located about 35 metres off shore in the lake. He has been identified as Michael Ryall of Lawson. The death is not being treated as suspicious.
