ROMANIAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION BRINGS PEASANT/FARMERS BLOUSES BACK IN FASHION AND WINS THE PRESIDENTIAL VOTE Romanias latest hot fashion item is very traditional - the women peasant or farmers blouse. The colourful garment dates back centuries but it disappeared from sight during the communist era. Now the colourful blouse is making a comeback, even featuring in the countrys latest presidential campaign. It had been included by Prime Minister Victor Ponta in his electioneering ahead ot last Sundays vote, with his posters featuring peasant/farmers blouses bearing the red, yellow and blue of the Romanian flag. Its a message saying this candidate is the leader of Romanians, said an official at the National Museum Of The Romanian Peasant in capital Bucharest.
