Visa Provided Air Ticket Provided after 2 years Vacation Leave 21 days every year Hiring Immediate Religion Must be Muslim Accommodation Bachelor accommodation provide Transportation To and from site/office Telecommunications Technician Job Purpose: Establishes communications systems by installing, operating, and maintaining voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment. Telecommunications Technician Job Duties: • Plans network installations by studying customer orders, plans, manuals, and technical specifications;ordering and gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools, assessing installation site; preparing an installation diagram. • Establishes voice and data networks by running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables; installing telecommunications equipment, routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays, and alarm and fire-suppression systems; building ironwork and ladder racks; establishing connections; programming features; establishing connections and integrations; following industry standards; activating remote access tools; coordinating with contractors. • Verifies service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; identifying, correcting, or escalating problems. • Documents network by labeling and routing equipment and cables; recording configuration diagrams and specifications. • Maintains network by troubleshootingand repairing outages; testing network back-up procedures; updating documentation. • Maintains customer rapport by listening to and resolving concerns; answering questions. • Maintains safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations. • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. • Install fixed and wireless network equipment and set up new telecommunications services • Ensure that equipment and circuit installations are of good quality • Place or terminate cables, including those made of optical fibre • Undertake proof tests such as line testing, circuit commissioning and power tests • Assemble, erect, position and label items of equipment • Provide cost estimates to customers for installation of equipment • Install and maintain telecommunication and other data systems at customers premises • Install, test and maintain all types of telecommunications, switching and transmission equipment • Carry out modifications to items of equipment • Take responsibility for tools, and plant and test equipment • Develop and maintain good relations with internal and external customers • Operate call tracing facilities when necessary. • Climbing communications towers and ladders; safely working in an elevated position • Availability to travel throughout Illinois or other Divisions in event of outages or customer demand, but most of the time you will be home at night. • Performing onsite customer installations and repairs • Adhering to the Company’s quality standards, policies, and procedures • Using a courteous and professional approach to address customer questions and concerns; discussing equipment placement, cable routing, paperwork completion, etc. • Performing basic personal computer (PC) and Local Area Network (LAN) setup and repair • Assisting customers with initial PC configuration; demonstrating Email account setup, LAN setup, and basic Internet Service Provider (ISP) use • Cleaning up after customer installation – removing boxes, pieces of cable, and sheetrock dust • Setting up Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone equipment and testing for proper functionality • Completing all installation and repair paperwork, detailed activity log, and other reports/documentation • Determining which tools are needed for scheduled installations; organizing and loading equipment into Company vehicle • Maintaining backhaul network; repairing network outages • Identifying potential performance “bottle necks in the system • Ensuring proper site operation; inspecting cable and electrical equipment • Identifying and designing potential new areas to be developed • Contacting homeowners and site managers to ensure installation satisfaction • Providing prompt response to network issues; conducting preventative or proactive network repair outside of normal business hours when required • Troubleshootingphysical layer problems with radio frequency (RF) links; resolving IP network issue problems • Notifying appropriate parties immediately of any issues which may affect efficient operations • Ability to work weekend and/or evening work; availability to perform some travel and recovery of Panel Antennas • Proficient in the Installation Proactive and positive attitude to HSE • Proficient at Working at heights in the installation and removal of MW dish, antenna & feeder cables on monopoles, roof tops and towers • Proficient in the Installation of RRU including support mounts, all connection requirements and sealing • Proficient in the Installation of RET Controller panel • Proficient in the identification of faults in telecommunications equipment using instruments such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters and transmission measuring equipment • Familiar with BTS installation – including Fibre Transmission, DC Systems, RF & Coaxial • Experience with conducting sweeps & PIM testing • Proficient in the adjusting, replacing and repairing faulty items, and testing equipment using electronic instruments • Competent in correctly taking photos of site and installation to Optus / Telstra and VHA Specification • Experience working on Telstra, VHA & Optus networks • Conscientious and compliant with the QA Policies and Procedures • Conscientious and compliant with the HSE management Policies and Procedures • Ensure company issued tools and equipment are stored maintained properly Skills/Qualifications: Telecommunications Systems Engineering Telecommunications Knowledge Telecommunications Technologies Provisioning, Technical Understanding, Functional and Technical Skills Independence Attention to Detail Verbal Communication Documentation Skills Audiovisual Maintenance Working at Heights 2G/3G/4G experience highly desirable Tower/Rope Advance Rescue Previous experience in the commercial communications space 2-5 years of Telco Rigging experience Installation and maintenance of antenna and feeder cables on monopoles, roof tops and towers.
