Telemetry from the fringe: More from Lake Elsinore, California. An abandoned Circle K convenience store, no doubt a victim of the depression. Elsinore is deep in a slump, with many a closed store and boarded-up buildings. This joint is only a block or two from the Interstate, on freakin MAIN Street, but thats just not close enough to keep the doors open. This pattern store was once rubber-stamped all over. Not so much anymore. Ive seen a few that are kept up; most are not. How about those daring raked and tapered cantilevered beams, eh? Woweeeeee! So modern! Yet passersby take no notice whatsoever: Passe. Completely invisible to pert-near everyone. Looks like the City of Lake Elsinore commissioned some gaudy tempura window paint to mask the blight at this primary portal into their downtown.
