Tell me what you think: Sun 9-28 I went to the ER in horrible pain. Surgeon said I need gall bladder removed. Tues 9-30 I had gall bladder removed. Mon 9-29 my employer says I will receive $200. weekly minus my insurance premiums while I recover. I was shocked at the low amount, 17% of my gross income. Thurs 10-2 my company sends me a letter stating that they cancelled my insurance Sun 9-28 two days before my surgery. So now I have no medical coverage. I am looking at a mountain of debt. My company also stated that paying the disability benefit is at their discretion. Their solution: I pick up COBRA medical coverage for 30 days, my cost $457. per month. Needless to say I became hysterical. Now I am trying to sort this out. I am open to suggestions.
