Tell me why this has been the events on my timeline this last week: On Saturday a club owner decides to cancel his monthly drag show to support a benefit show put on by a college show every year. Said club owner has made arrangements to bring myself and the regular cast up to perform at this drag show paying our normal bar show pay. There is NO out of pocket expense for the college to have us at this drag show whatsoever! Yesterday the bar owner is notified that the entertainers from this bar are no longer needed. So... From a performers perspective, we are all now out of our regular show pay, the tips we could have made during our St. Patricks Day Show, and now we are getting turned down to perform for free for the college with all our tips donated to a good cause??? I digress... No I dont, because heres the kicker. 24 hours after the bar has been declined of its services the college reaches out and asks some of those same performers that were just turned away to come up and perform for a gas card and a Tshirt??? Where is your marketing and FURTHERMORE, where is your T-A-C-T??? Let me say this, I have been dedicated to this college and have organized troops to make this event happen since 2006. EVERY year I have been at this event with the exception of last year. I have helped raise up to $1700, if not more, in JUST ONE show for this cause (2012). Before you ask me to come up and perform for a gas card and Tshirt, I suggest you check with your LACK of PR, because this is not how anyone donating services should be treated... Now... SISSY THAT WALK!
