Temporary positions Department of Disaster and Emergency Management Services Replenishment of Fire Brigade Reserve Force As part of established Service Delivery Improvement and Poverty Alleviation Initiatives, the Department concerned is intending to replenish its Fire Brigade Reserve Force established in terms of the Fire Brigade Services Act (Act 99 of 1987 as amended) and Regulations thereto. In this regard, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) Emergency Services is seeking to further enlist suitably qualified, unemployed residents of the City of Ekurhuleni as Fire Brigade Reservists. Conditions and Eligibility: Only unemployed residents of the City of Ekurhuleni may be enlisted Individuals that applied in response to earlier advertisements are required to re-apply Enlistment as Reservist does not create an employment relationship with EMM Minimum Requirements: Basic Ambulance Course with current HPCSA registration, alternatively Fire Fighter 2 Course with Hazmat Operations Compensation: Reservists called up for active duty and/or official training will be compensated per completed shift at the rate of Firefighter (Level T07 Notch 1) on the EMM salary structure. Application process: A completed Regulation 3 application form obtainable from any of the 27 Fire Stations within EMM must be submitted, accompanied by certified copies of the following: Proof of residence Identity document Qualifications HPCSA registration (if applicable) Complete applications must be delivered to EMM Emergency Services Training Academy at Leon Ferreira Fire Station, Trichardt Road, Boksburg on or before the specified closing date.
