Ten years ago yesterday, I met the woman I would marry exactly one year and one day later. It was a chance encounter, as random as they come. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. To my wife, Shari Murphree, I want to say that the last 10 years has been a good start to what I hope will be many more. Even though we have had many miles of hard road on our journey through life, there is absolutely no one I would ever want at my side more than you. We have managed to build a strong and loving relationship on – at least it seems sometimes – little more than a love of Auburn football and a hatred of mayonnaise. When I look back on the last 10 years, I definitely remember more ups than downs. Sometimes, that’s the best that life is going to give you, so I’ll take it. We have taken each other to places neither of us would go alone, and though some of those memories come with bandages and scars, the echo of laughter still rings in my mind. As she points out in her Facebook post about this special day, our love was born in a hurricane. Thats apt and fitting. I hope that winds that blew us to each other continue to carry us to more new and wonderful places. Happy anniversary, Shari.
