Ten years is a significant landmark in anyone’s life. For 23-year-old Elizabeth Tan Wee Yee, this year will be doubly special as she will mark a decade of performing in NDP as part of People’s Association (PA) performance in Act 2 of NDP Show: LOVE IT! Her group of dancers will occupy the track between the stage and seating area during PA’s performance, which will allow more interaction with the audience, something Elizabeth has never experienced before. “I’m still motivated by the cheers of the audience even though I’m usually excited and nervous before the performance. Once it’s over, I feel relieved along with a sense of accomplishment,” said Elizabeth who’s been dancing since she was four. A full-time business student at the Singapore Institute of Management, Elizabeth also feels “honoured and proud” to be a part of this year’s celebrations. “I get to make a lot of friends and feel very special which is why I’m always coming back for more,” said the Michael Jackson fan who enjoys dancing to a mix of cultural and hip-hop music.
