Tena Koutou Katoa, I hope that everyone is having an excellent well deserved break over the festive season. Te wa o te Kirihimete is my favourite time of the year as I get to share some well deserved time with my whanau. I found a ripene whakaata (video) that I would like to share with everyone. It raised a great concern for me which has since prompted me to change my ways in being able to protect and nurture our language. Among starting this page for all of the whanau that are in Brisbane Australia and among starting classes from my home in Springfield Lakes I have made a rule to start talking to everyone that I know can speak Te Reo Maori in Te Reo Maori. Te Reo Maori and the use of Te Reo Maori needs to start in our homes. When it is nurtured and preserved in our homes our children and families have a strong foundation to learn from and we can then start influencing our communities. I encourage everyone as I have been since commencing this page to start. No matter how small. It starts with planting the seed in each and everyone of our Maori community and with that seed whoever you influence will be able to find their path with Te Reo Maori. I hope you enjoy the video, Im back at mahi tomorrow however Im looking forward to what the new year will bring. Tena koutou. youtu.be/qFo_TM0UbQ0
