Terror groups planning car bomb attacks on dignitaries near Airport Delhi Police have received multiple alerts from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) about possible threats to dignitaries, including VVIPs and ministers, from the Indian Mujahideen and fundamentalist groups operating in Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of attacks on the airport in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi. According to sources, various groups, including the Indian Mujahideen, are planning to attack dignitaries with car bombs. In a recent meeting held after the attacks on Karachi airport, Delhi Police was asked to verify and check more than 100 hotels as they are in very close proximity to Delhis international airport. After the attacks on Karachi airport, a meeting of officials of IB, Bureau of Civil Aviation, Delhi Police and CISF decided that hotels at Mahipalpur and Dwarka and various high- rise buildings will be checked. Also, the CISF will deploy armed men at strategic places in IGI airport. Apart from this, police are conducting drills for better coordination between security agencies. Frequency of such drills has increased. Last Friday, a drill was conducted to check and rectify various flaws a senior airport official said.
