Terrorism is not a reflection or result of religiosity. Terror is - TopicsExpress

Terrorism is not a reflection or result of religiosity. Terror is a desire for power. The power to control your own destiny. Far too many Muslims see their place in the world as small. A bit player if you will. The only control they can assert over these outside forces is to do something big. They yearn to have a say in their own life. They turn to the one thing that can make sense of these outside forces that torment them. They become terrorists because they feel like a mouse pulled around on a string. Now please stop saying that Islam is the problem. That Islam needs reform. That Islam is a religion of terror. Because frankly, you just dont know. Islam may need reform but it has nothing to do with terrorism. For those of you that say terrorism is a backlash for years of pro-Israel policies and the invasion of Iraq etc. Please stand in line. Those are minor bit effects of a much bigger picture. Study the whole Muslim world and the Middle East in particular. Look at Islam in a place like Malaysia and then look at Islam in a place like Afghanistan and you will begin to understand.
