Terry, Evelyn: Hartford Community Loan Fund has begun providing small ($100 & up) loans to Hartford residents who need help building credit. We are especially seeking to work with northend residents as our research has shown that the majority of residents in the 06112 and 06120 zipcodes have credit scores that would prevent them from being able to access affordable mortgage loans, car loans, & in some cases even employment or decent housing opportunities. I’m attaching a copy of this research, along with a story detailing the results of a credit builder loan we provided to a former Barbour Street renter, now a homeowner in East Hartford.
