Testimonial from Eric Boateng (Great Britain Basketball) My name is Eric Boateng. I am currently a Professional basketball player who has had the honour of representing Great Britain in the sport of basketball. I have also attended Duke University and Arizona State University where I attained my undergraduate degree in Global and Political Studies. My path however started as a young boy with a single parent mother. As I glance back at my path in terms of my experiences and accomplishments one thing has remained vibrant through it all, and it is the close relationship, advice and mentoring by Daniel Sesu. He has helped me in ways that I barely realize. He has directed me in the path of success and excellence in which I still strive to achieve to this day. I never thought I would have been able to accomplish some of the things I have in my life but that voice and unconditional support that Daniel has graciously given to me has moulded me for the better. My relationship and mentoring started with Daniel when I was 14 years old. I barely realized it but having Daniel as an older friend elevated the way I conducted myself and approach to daily challenges. From the early stages of secondary school until the end of my university education, I have had the upper hand in having such a motivational and vibrant voice. I believe that my University experience was harder than most pupils, because I had to manage the responsibilities of being a Division One athlete with attaining the highest results possible in my academic endeavours. I wanted to excel in both fields of athletics and academics. Daniel had an overwhelming influence in letting me realize it was attainable and the critical advice to make it happen. Today, I am a professional athlete playing basketball for a living but I know when my days of being an athlete are over, I will be equipped to face the challenges before me. The foundations of hard work, integrity, and honesty have been constantly and perhaps subconsciously instilled in me by the relationship I have formed with Daniel. Daniel has an innate gift to lead and inspire that I have observed in him being an older brother, coach, and teammate that would be an essential part to any institution.
