Tevusat Tevusat, what an interesting little word, with one - TopicsExpress

Tevusat Tevusat, what an interesting little word, with one really hugely meaningful effect. For as many times now as I have read the Hebrew Bible, this is the first time this word has stood out to me. I’m talking about one of those words that just sort of jumps off the page and suddenly wakes one up, for me that’s a wake-up call to study deeper and find the whole meaning. At first glance simply put this word just means; [destruction], but having at least a little knowledge of God, that doesn’t mean the one word explanation is the end of this word. God never leaves things with just one word explanation, so now we seek God as to why this word at this time, and this is what He said. He chose our paths, each and every one of us has a divine purpose and call on our lives, but few of us are seeking God to fulfill that call and purpose, and fewer still are walking in what we were designed to do, in His call and purpose. So why this word, at this time? Oddly enough, this word is used only one time in the Hebrew Bible, that also kind of points to the fact, it’s something to pay attention to: H8395 tebûsâh teb-oo-saw From H947; a treading down, that is, ruin: - destruction. BDB Definition: 1) a treading down, downtreading, ruin, downfall, destruction Part of Speech: noun feminine A Related Word by BDB/Strong’s Number: from H947 Same Word by TWOT Number: 216c In my research, God had me pay close attention to every tie involved with this word: H947 bûs boos A primitive root; to trample (literally or figuratively): - loath, tread (down, under [foot]), be polluted. detestable, that is, (specifically) idolatrous: - abominable. BDB Definition: 1) to tread down, reject, trample down 1a) (Qal) 1a1) to tread down, trample (of warriors) 1a2) of rejection (figuratively) 1b) (Polel) 1b1) to tread down (in bad sense) 1b2) to desecrate 1c) (Hithpolel) 1c1) to tread 1c2) to kick out 1c2a) of infants’ blind movements 1c2b) of Jerusalem (figuratively) 1d) (Hophal) to be trodden down Part of Speech: verb When I looked this word up in the AHLB, I found a follow up meaning, but this one part really caught my eye. To be chosen for slaughter and placed in pens and fed to make them ready for slaughter, not necessarily done by the designer but rather the designee. That just brings it down to this, if we choose not to walk in our calling and purpose, then what exactly happens to us for all eternity, our first choice brought about God’s second choice, we are sheep for the slaughter. Pro 27:20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied. There is so much of what God has told us that we have chosen to ignore, probably without giving any thought to the after effects; but how about now, since we have learned a little more about it? Heb 3:10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. Heb 3:11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. Remember, we discussed the results of the first saved generation, only two and their families, got to enter into God’s Promised Land. Psa 95:10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways: Psa 95:11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest. Heb 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. Heb 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. Heb 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Heb 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Heb 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. This should definitely give us a clue, we need to cease from doing our works and ways, and surrender fully to God, seeking Him for everything, including our call and purpose. If we choose to do otherwise, then we slate ourselves for destruction like lambs to the slaughter! Amen!!!
