Texarkana, USA, Monday, April 28, 6:45 PM. I lost my cap back in February. It was my favorite cap. It blew right off my head in a gale while reefing the mizzen of RIM Nativa. The sight must have stunned the crew at first inasmuch as they stopped their work looking at me slack-jawed as in an instant I contemplated diving into the drink after it, then all returned to their duties as though nothing at all had happened. But I...yes, I alone watched that cap drift away on the current and sink from sight beneath the briney. I cannot say that I loved that cap for a thing cannot really be loved...or at least it shouldnt be...but I did like it...A LOT! And I lost it. The implication of a thing being lost it not difficult to conceive. Lost indicates, well...lost, i.e., cannot be found for one doesnt know the location of the thing. The same can be said of persons and there are many who are...lost. I am reminded of this as many have lately said to me...Sorry you lost your wife. I appreciate the concern and I well understand the intent but dear friends, weve not lost our Paula. We know where she is and that, not because of who she was or what shed done but because of her faith in Christ. She is with The Lord and with all those who like her, have trusted in Him. I lost that cap and theres no use looking for it. I didnt lose my First Mate and as far as looking for her goes, its really okay to just stay the course down here, knowing shes the one looking for me one of these days. God bless you all. I am praying for you. I will post again.
