Texas Governor Rick Perry was indicted for abuse of power. This sounds terrible and the media will report the indictment and the various perceived damages for being indicted. But they may not explain that he was indicted for vetoing funding for the Public Integrity Unit of Texas until they removed its head, Rosemary Lehmberg, who was arrested for blowing a .238 (nearly 3 times the legal limit) and making such a spectacle of herself that she was placed in a restraint chair with a spit mask. Yet, Perry is indicted? This is one of the more ridiculous abuses of prosecutorial discretion in history. I really hope the Democrats fall on their sword to defend Lehmberg and this indictment.
