Texas NFA Gun Trust @ Shot Show 2015: One issue when shooting - TopicsExpress

Texas NFA Gun Trust @ Shot Show 2015: One issue when shooting suppressed is the increased gas pressure caused by the addition of a silencer. This increased gas pressure causes reliability issues be increasing the bolt velocity, usability issues by blowing gas into the shooters face and eyes and eventually longevity issues through increased wear on the rifle. The historical solution is to replace the gas block with a complicated switchblock. GemTech decided to move the gas control back to the Bolt carrier group. In this case, the valve is switched by a cartridge case or flat head screw driver. My only criticism rom a usability standpoint is that the use has to REMOVE the BCG from the weapon to switch between suppressed and unsuppressed. One nice feature of this design is that the gas may be switched even if the rifle is hot. youtu.be/R3v8Wg4xVXk
