Texas Raceway Results - Friday the 13th Friday the 13th didn’t scare off 14 Pro Mod teams who came out and put their superstitions behind them trying to get a victory on this historically weird night. Doug Riesterer (W) 4.201 at 171mph (.101 RT) Eric Clark (RU) NT Friday the 13th gets Eric Clark….his car taps the wall in the burn-out disqualifying him from competition giving Riesterer the competition bye run. Gaylen Smith (W) 3.953 at 183 mph (.074 RT) Tim Cruce (RU) 4.290 at 176 mph (.136 RT) Even though Tim loses this round, he has a smile on his face because he seems to be shaking some gremlins loose and makes a nice run. After breaking another new belt during 2nd round qualifying, Gaylen goes back to a used belt which held on for the win. Dwayne Watkins (W) 3.951 at 190 mph (.152 RT) Eddie Roach (RU) 5.180 at 106 mph (.118 RT) Eddie encounters traction problems and has to lift; meanwhile Watkins is peddling in the other lane for the win. Semi-Finals: Gaylen Smith (W) 3.943 at 185 mph (.027 RT) *Best Reaction Time Steve Wiley (RU) 4.239 at 146 mph (-.003 RT) Red Light Friday the 13th gets Wiley too as he leaves just 3 thousandths too soon. Meanwhile, in the other lane, the belt stays on and the Texas Bounty Hunter grabs the win and Best Reaction Time. Dwayne Watkins (W) 3.930 at 201 mph (.107 RT) Doug Riesterer (RU) 3.998 at 184 mph (.136 RT) Side by Side Blown *vs* Nitrous racing; it don’t get much better than that! Doug seems to have hit the tune up but is tardy on the tree. Watkins makes another 200+ mph run and captures the win. Finals: Gaylen Smith (W) 25.30 at 23 mph (.056 RT) Dwayne Watkins (RU) NT Friday the 13th gets Dwayne….. Something goes wrong and he shuts his car off after the burnout giving Gaylen the competition bye run for the win. At the hit of the throttle, Gaylen looses another belt and coasts to the finish line for the win. On a day when most people think Friday the 13th brings them bad luck, one guy seems to have good luck. This is not the first time Gaylen has won on Friday the 13th. Without saying, 13 is our lucky number. Congratulations to Gaylen Smith and Team TBH for their 5th victory at Texas Raceway in the 2013 season. Congrats to Dwayne Watkins and crew for the runner-up finish and track record MPH. Thanks for making the haul from Rosemark, TN to come play with us Texas Boyz. Thank you Cindi and to the staff of Texas Raceway!
