Texas reproductive health, rights and justice organizations welcome collaboration with partners from outside Texas and at the national level. But when we work with these partners, it’s because we’ve agreed on the terms of the collaboration. Stop Patriarchy has repeatedly been asked to take into account Texans’ points of view and has repeatedly denied us the opportunity to be heard. Stop Patriarchy’s “Freedom Ride” is not only unnecessary, but undermines the work already being done in Texas by suggesting that Texans have not yet begun to fight back in a meaningful way against state lawmakers’ attacks on reproductive freedom, and that ignorant, complacent Texans can only be shocked into action by Stop Patriarchy. texansforrj.tumblr/letterofconcern
