Thank God, THE REPUBLICANS ARE STUPID!!! Im not talking about individuals who may consider themselves and call themselves Republicans, but the Grand Old Party itself. The biggest mistake the GOP has made in modern times was in not naming Condoleeza Rice as its nominee for the office of POTUS in 2008. I know that seems far-fetched, and even silly, but consider: Dr. Rice was (and, presumably, still IS) more conservative than George W. Bush, the President under whom she served as Secretary of State. Shes definitely more hawkish... Shes very obviously an intellectual --- the caricatures of a dunce, etc., could never have been aimed at her... As the daughter of a very conservative Presbyterian minister, she would not have antagonized the evangelical/fundamentalist wing of Protestantism and the Bible Belt, which seems to assume that evangelical Protestantism is the State Church of the United States... She would easily have had the support of the black televangelists and mega-church pastors, most of whom are ardently conservative. Those guys could easily have swung massive support to her, rather than to someone whod come out in favor of ... gasp! ...gay marriage! The only ones who might have mounted opposition to this black womans being head of the Republican Party might have been the extreme, racist Right Wing --- but even they would have had to hold their noses and support her, because who would have been the alternative? Another black person --- a commie, Muslim black Man, Barack HUSSEIN Obama. If the Republicans had not been so STUPID in 2008, I firmly believe wed be battling a Republican POTUS and Congress even today. Thank God for stupidity!
