Chelsea youngster eyeing starting role at Stamford Bridge Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku is focused on doing well next season at Chelsea, while doesn’t rule out the possibility of a loan move again, if he fails to make a bright impression. The striker spent last season on loan to West Bromwich Albion, where he had a successful campaign, scoring 17 goals for the Baggies. The 20-year-old is now targeting a starting role in the Chelsea team and acknowledges that he needs to do well in the pre-season for the Blues. “You never know in football but my mind is in Chelsea now and I have come back to do well in pre-season and if I do a good pre-season, I think I will have a place in the squad and hopefully in the starting 11,” the 20 year old Lukaku told Sky Sports. “Last year I had a great season at West Brom and I think have the qualities to do it here, but it is up to me. “If I don’t do well here, then loan again.” Chelsea have tried to sign several top strikers in the summer, like Wayne Rooney or Edinson Cavani, but so far, the Londoners have failed to land any of their prime targets, which means Jose Mourinho will have to put his trust on Torres, Lukaku and Ba, to do the job. ~Paul~
