I am contacting this company on behalf of an employee that works for HEB in one of your Austin area stores. This amazing lady hasnt had it easy in the last few years. Dealing with the loss of her mother who was her rock in life has not been easy. On top of that, she is raising her daughter that is on the Autism Spectrum and the daily battles that come along with that and holding down her job as the Manager of one of this companies cosmetics department. Jennifer Patterson has devoted her live to her daughter and her job. She loves both unconditionally and does her best to do her best at both of those. Jennifer has come into some issues with her daughters public school and the Special Education program they are providing. It seems as if the school is not willing to truly work with Jennifer and her daughter to provide her the best education possible. Her daughter has had major meltdowns and such that Jennifer is actually not secure in the fact they are really taking all of her daughters needs into account. As the parent of an Autistic child myself, I know just how hard it is to deal with a public school system that doesnt truly take the childs interests as first and fore most. Jennifer had the opportunity to visit a private school in the Austin area that specializes in Special Education and teaching children that otherwise would fall through the cracks. Unfortunately, the cost of this school is just out of her budget. As with most of us that live without a silver spoon in our mouths. I know that HEB as a whole has very high regards for schools in general and donate lots of time, energy and funds to schools throughout Texas. My question is this.....Is there any scholarship programs or grants to help Special Needs kids in your company?? Are there any set up to assist employees and their families provide this basic need when the public system is failing them? Jennifers daughter deserves the chance to be educated, not restrained physically if she is having a hard time adjusting. If anyone deserves any kind of special grant or scholarship, Jens daughter is very deserving of the help. Please, please consider a fund or some kind of program to help employees at your company. Everyone deserves a chance. Thank you for your time in reading my plea for Jen and her amazing daughter!!! I look forward to hearing from HEB!! Thank you!!
