Thank you, Delaware JFC, for recognizing the important role the Delaware Adolescent Program Inc. and Friends plays in educating Delawares pregnant and parenting teens. Every one of our senior girls graduated from high school this year and two-thirds are headed to college! As Lucy Barranco ODonnell points out, this was accomplished with 16% of our students having IEP’s, 4% being court adjudicated, 10% being homeless, 85% being poverty level, 49% being below grade level when they came to DAPI and 67% needing credit recovery! This highly vulnerable population of children needs our help to be successful in school and in life, and hopefully we break the cycle for many. DAPI has the focus, expertise and nurturing environment to help these young women succeed. Thank you for continuing to support programs like ours through the states grant-in-aid.
