Thank you God that my family is ok and safe. Despite of our house being partially damaged, you spared their lives and many of the people in our town. Please continue protecting and keeping them safe. I hope that our government will start giving relief because there is no way for them to buy food and get out of town since Tacloban is in havoc. Please grant them peace, hope, and bless them. Let us continue praying for these people because they need our prayers the most. They need food, water, and medical care and equipments. To the Phillipine government, please act soon because more people will die from hunger and illness. To Filipinos or others with financial means, please forget about getting the latest cell phones this time, because our fellow country men do not even have a single grain of rice to eat. Let us forget the luxurious material things for a moment and think about the basic needs of our people for a time being. A pair of new jeans may feed a couple of people. A new expensive watch will feed hundreds. This is the time that we have to act unselfishly. I know that our Christmas this year will not be about the presents rather the gift of life - that each and everyone of my family member is alive and my family is intact and healthy. Our familys gift to each other this year, is to save other lives. Let this experience teach you that life is not about the material things you accrue in life, but the number of lives you have touched.
