As the father of a 16-year-old girl (who is dating a wonderful young man), I worry a lot about the complex nature of abusive relationships. I have seen great girls and women slip into bad situations. As the father of of a wonderful 14-year-old boy (who is getting bigger and stronger by the day), I worry a lot about how young men filled with a volatile cocktail of hormones can lash out irrationally and harmfully. Kate, you represent how difficult this issue is to pin down. And your call for meaningful, lasting dialogue is greatly appreciated. I look forward to the conversation.
