Thank you Linda for donating your time on this horrible day to help us keep puppies clean and happy during this extreme weather challenge. Very limited out time for fear of frost bite and hypothermia (funny I am out and about all day long but I dont have a choice, just the babies do ). We are dealing with frozen water pipes again and having to haul it from a warm source to all the animals, horse included. Our heating bills are huge as electric heaters struggle to keep the kennels warm, appointments are canceling left and right because of the snow and the weather so income to pay the Sanctuary bills is at a all time low. We had to order fuel oil since the central burner wood stove can not keep up, YIKES that was a shock. The two rooms that are staying consistently warm have the 2 pellet stoves I have been able to afford and Dear God I want them in all the kennels too as the electric heaters are just not getting the job done. But at $1200 a piece with fittings there is no money for that right now as we struggle just to get through this winter, 4 more pellet stove definitely on the wish list. Mountains of laundry, as more in time means more messes, puppies are crabby because of the confinement they are not used to but better that then frozen pups. The kitties hang out inside and nap so they are handling it much better. And this morning the news said to expect 10 days to 2 weeks more of this WOW!!!!! I know we will survive but right now at the end of the day I am so exhausted and frustrated it is hard to think this soon too shall pass. Putting on all the clothes I own that are clean this morning, long days turning into longer, colder nights make my resolve to stay up with the house laundry seem less important, . Yesterday morning I dressed out of the pile of clean clothes thrown on the dining room table I havent had time to put away, Martha Stewart would be so proud NOT!!!! God Please give me the strength to keep going and please turn the thermostat up as this weather is making it financially and physically so difficult to do the work You have set in front of us.
