Thank you Mbabane Alliance church! 19/06/2013 00:40:00BY DUMSANI SIBANDZE Font size: Peace, perfect peace!! It’s a great day that the Lord Almighty God has made and let’s be glad and enjoy it, for there are those who had plans for this day, but they could not make it. We are not alive because we are clear or we have done something better than those who could not see the day, but it is the mercy of the Living God. Amen. Stop me before I preach. It’s a good day my dearest football family more especially the Black Bull family. I know that you have been waiting with keen interest for the news from Mbabane Highlanders. Yes indeed one may say that the chips are low in the family, but that does not mean that we are out of market. We are a brand that has stood the test of time and even today it is heart-warming to learn that there are people who believe in Mbabane Highlanders. It is wonderful to learn that there are people who see the best in us and we cannot then sit back and relax hoping that someone will take over from us- it does not work that way ma Highlanders. We take this opportunity to thank the Mbabane Alliance Church for the E7 200 worth of votes for the ongoing Swazi Telecom Charity Cup 2013 edition. It is really good to see the church joining hands with the rest of us in making the lives of the less privileged better. Honestly, to me it is an indication that the church does understand the verse in the book of Matthew, which talks about Christians being the light of the world and that the light has to be put on the table so that the rest of the world can see it. It is a clear indication that Reverend Johannes Mazibuko has inculcated the culture of giving to the church and one may also say that it is not the first time that the church donates towards this noble cause as they have done so before. One may also add that it is evident to all of us that the Mbabane Alliance Church is busy with the construction of their church structure and probably all resources are channelled towards that task, but still they find it appropriate to help the less privileged. The tele-voting competition is not about the teams at the end of the day, but it is about the Swazis out there who do not know where their next meal will come from, who do not have roofs over their heads and honestly, people who associate with such works deserve to be praised. SPTC strategies are working For 11 years running the Swaziland Post and Telecommunication Corporation has been involved with soccer teams in the Telecom Charity Programme and over the years the projects have grown from strength to strength. The strategies and innovations that have been introduced throughout have worked and SPTC and the Premier League of Swaziland are working tirelessly each year, ensuring that the tournaments become better and better. Football followers have learnt the noble idea behind the whole tournament and they have not neglected their teams throughout the voting process. It is really worrying when they would come up to say that this thing is not working. They must ask us, we have been there almost in every edition of the tournament and believe me it is working. As we speak we are now able to vote using a cellphone and we are also using innovations such as internet voting which has made the process even easier. We are not going to sit down and watch people water down this work. We are patriotic football people and we are not going to take kindly to some lame expertise which in the first place we have not asked for. Football is bigger than anyone of us and where our minds end, football stretches beyond that. I rest my case. Manzini here we come Dear Mbabane Highlanders peo-ple, this weekend we are going down to Jubilee Park in Manzini with the SPTC Charity Cup road-show. I take this opportunity to invite all our people in the Lowveld to make it a point that they attend this event. This will be a big day and under no circumstance do I expect our people to miss it. Please come prepared to vote for your team and let’s make it a point that we continue making history by consistently making it into the top six. Our people from Manzini, this is your time to make a name for yourself. Apart from the Highlanders family I invite all football people to come and vote for their team and by doing that they will not only be enhancing chances for their teams to qualify for the tournament but will be contributing to underprivileged Swazis. Supporter’s Corner May I further take this opportunity to inform our people about the ongoing roadshows for the team in Matsapha, Emathangeni where the National Supporters Committee is hosting some roadshows in a bid to canvass votes for the team. The roadshow starts at around 5pm and tomorrow they will be in Mbabane. May I request all our people to make it a point that they pass by this place and contribute something.
