Thank you Natalie Ferrigno for sharing this with us. My version of protein bars covered in dark chocolate. Sooo easy to make and absolutely delicious, I cant get enough of them! Store them in the fridge and they will keep for 2 weeks if you can resist them that long! #glutenfree #wheatfree #processedsugarfree #eatclean #fitkitchen #eatforabs #gym #healthy #delicious #homemade Recipe 1and a half cups mixed nuts (any you like but I used almonds&hazelnuts) 1and a half cups dates Half a cup of unsweetened nutbutter (I used whole earth peanut butter) Half a cup of healthy maple syrup (I use the protein works zero maple syrup but you could use the real stuff, agave or honey as an alternative) Half a cup coconut flour Tbsp dessicated coconut Tsp cinnamon & nutmeg Tsp almond extract Dark choc for the top or to be super healthy use a tsp of coconut oil mixed with raw cacao nibs instead. Method - grind the nuts in a food processor. Add the remaining ingredients and mix until it becomes a sticky ball of dough. Spread out on a greased square baking tin by flattening it down. Refridgerate until set - ideally overnight or a few hours. When firm melt dark chocolate and pour over the top and return to the fridge to set. When ready cut into slabs or squares, share and enjoy! Keep in the fridge or can be frozen. Happy baking!
