(Thank you Wayne P) It is a shame to see people solely blaming Hamas. I dont support them but I can understand why they exist. Oppressed people in a situation like Gaza will eventually fight back rather than watch their neighbours be brutalised by a modern well-equipped army. This is such a one-sided conflict when it comes to military capability and the force used is disproportionate and quite indiscriminate. Coming at this from a neutral point of view and assessing the situation as logically as possible, I conclude this Zionist Israeli government is the culprit. I have tried to remove emotion and knee-jerk reaction from my thoughts. It is a form of slow genocide of the Palestinian people and the rest of the world should not stand idly by. If I was an American citizen I would feel angry at my government for being complicit in the creation of this situation and their ongoing support of a criminal government. As a British citizen I would like the British government to do more. Sanctions against Israel maybe? We should try talking but I feel it wont make any difference. Talking to the US government to persuade them to change their stance is a must. I do not see how we can continue in close partnership with any government that supports Israel in any way. I also look back to the fact we went to war with Iraq not so long ago alongside the US. There is probably no chance at all either government will consider the same reaction to Israel. I do not advocate war as a solution by the way, I am merely using this to provoke thought. As citizens of this world we need to make a stand for the sake of humanity.
