Thank you all for sharing your concern about the Lodge and staff. At this point we are relieved that the Lodge is intact and that all guests and employees were evacuated safely. The fire started South of the Lodge between Slide Rock State Park and the Halfway day use area. With hot dry winds the fire grew in size quickly and we were evacuated within 20-30 minutes. We are anticipating reopening next week, unless the canyon is reopened for this Memorial Day weekend.
