Thank you all that have texted/called and asked if Mackinley is ok. ❤️ Mackinley has been praying for the knowledge and ability to be able to make a difficult decision. She loves pitching and never thought she would have to make a decision to play or not to play softball because for years, it has been part of what she does, but her back injury earlier this year has changed that for her. The dr said that pitching would be the hardest thing for her to go back to doing, and regardless of her desire to push herself and come back, that has proven to be true. On Thursday, she was given an unexpected opportunity and a blessing to play on the Magic 17s Premier Team. An opportunity she was not looking for, but without a doubt God had set things in motion to provide her with. On Sunday, we met the team and coach, she loved it! That evening we committed too her playing on the team. Mackinley was fully aware that this commitment meant she would not be playing high school softball. While she knew that only God could have put this all in motion and answered her prayers for direction, facing her teammates today was not something she knew how to do. As she told her teammates that she has been playing with for over 8 years, they were fighting back tears while wishing her the best, she began the process of accepting this was all reality. I cant begin to imagine how she feels. I know she is excited and knows that the opportunity with Magic is a blessing, but it cant be easy to know that she will not take the mound and be part of a team that she dearly loved. I am so proud of her strength, courage, and willingness to follow the path that God has put before her. AND Congratulations on making 1st Team All District in Volley Ball! ❤️
