Thank you for accepting me in the group. I was known to have a bicuspid valve for 25 years. I am a cardiac nurse practitioner which probably made my awareness worse. Anyway, I knew that I was looking at a valve replacement unless (a) I died of something else, or (b) the stenosis lessened. I am three weeks post op valve replace (MOO!) and I also was found in pre-op testing to have a large ascending aortic aneurysm. I didnt know this could be a genetic condition. My daughter has the same, my son doesnt. My sister is being tested next month. My grandchildren are too young. Since the surgery is very recent I will be happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability. My biggest surprise post-op is how tired I am!!!
