Thank you for accepting my request to join the group. The way I see things, BCP lost a propaganda, sensationalism and sympathy vote war . It didnt lose because of the manifesto. Dumelang led a formidable campaign, put up an impressive shadow cabinet and yes, articulated issues with unparalleled clarity. The issue for me now is whether to develop a massive propaganda combat machinery to deal with the untruths and half truths that characterise political campaigns or just stick to the trademark of the bare truth and hope that Batswana see the difference. BCP ought not lose focus. Dikgang tse le di itseng or tse le di imaginang ka UDC, other parties or any organisation, shouldnt take the time needed to strategise. Whatever analysis is made of them does not add value to the quest to emancipate Batswana and wont help to create a Botswana that will present to the world a correct figure that genuinely describes the per capita income of the country, nor improve the quality of education. I would be happy if members could desist from dignifying insults from whichever direction with responses and focus on building the party. BCP went through the election campaign relatively cleanly and that was a distinctive stance. Why regress? Members of the party who have been shaken need counselling not slander. Not everyone can self counsel so a ba tshegediwe betsho. Yes there are people who use pseudo names to vilify others. This should be ignored! Its in itself cowardice. Simple minds discuss people, sane ones discuss issues. Lets see the difference. When all is said and done, we remain Batswana first and foremost. We ought not allow politics to polarise us to the extent that we lose our ideals. We have a generation we have a responsibility to, to teach BOTHO. We also have to teach them to appreciate difference of opinion and constructive criticism and feedback. A functional democracy embraces unity in diversity. Amen. God bless our Country
