Thank you for asking me to share this Patricia! EXCITING TIMES for PNUK (Poodle Network UK): So much has been going on. Dogs being helped, links being forged and our structure and plans moving ahead apace. Lets start with the dogs: Remember this lad in the photo? He was found wandering the streets of Salford. the new photos are of him in his foster home. He is temporarily named Zulu. He is a lovely boy. Here is some news from his Foster Mum: Im pleased to report that there has been no further coughing. I have had a lovely day with him today. We have just come back from his second walk of the day. Today was the first time I walked him, a my fiancé has been walking him whilst I take our two, and by the time we were headed home on the first walk, he was already walking to heel, or there abouts, on a loose lead, which is excellent. I also did some semi-long line work and he would trot off and sniff, but would come back regularly in his own and when I called him. He has a long way to go, as he is still really strong and will growl and run after other dogs if he sees any when out, but he definitely has lots of potential. We played fetch in the garden and he would bring the ball right back to me and release it without a problem. He really is a lovely dog. I did take him to the vet but only to be weighed to make sure I was feeding him enough and for worming and he is a healthy 27.3kgs. So great news there. You will also all remember the little silver poodle with the broken leg? We will give more information when we can, but be assured we are involved in her recovery. The black Toy girl in the North West that was kept locked in the flat has a number of issues but has gone to a great home with experienced owners who are prepared to work with her! Florence is due to travel to her new home on Sunday where she will be learning heel work to music and training up to do agility! We stil have dogs looking for homes, some gorgeous Toys and Mins and expect more in in the next month. So if you know people wanting Poodles, then point them this way. Now for forging the links. I know we arent all fans of the big organisation that is the RSPCA, however, the local branches have to look after, and fund themselves, and they are the workers. We have forged some great working links with local branches who are really happy to know about us and willing to pass Poodles on to us. Other Rescues including Cinq Ports are really happy to work with us and we have also had contact from Therapy Pets groups. We are going on the KC Rescue List and have our places booked for the meeting at Stoneleigh in May. Our Bank Account is hopefully not too far away. We will be using a Barclay Community Account which has some groovy features including donation apps and even a bar code scan giving system! Our plans to go COI are being developed and our website (currently a basic one that we got up and running) is now in the hands of an expert who will improve that one and meanwhile get us an all singing and dancing one and will also take care of all the promotional stuff. So we really are going from success to success. The more we succeed the better we can do for the dogs.
