Thank you to Domo Geshe Rinpoche and all who have sent prayers to my grandfather who suffered from cancer that began in his esophagus, diagnosed last December. After a week on a hospital bed losing his faculties, and under the care of my grandmother, mother and sister who live closer to him than myself, he finally passed this morning peacefully. An honorable and humble man who was always ready to stop in his tracks to help another, I am deeply grateful to have seen him go in the most humane possible way, despite how painful it was for us to see him in the state of decline. His last gift to us was bringing us all closer together as family, despite our quirks and differences. I have been sending him distant healing and was especially chanting intensely last night with his transition in mind. I chanted so much that it resonated in my mind upon waking and throughout the day. One of my nieces with no religious background whatsoever, age 8, had a dream during the night that white lights carried him up to heaven...then she awoke to hear from my sister that he had indeed just passed. This is my grandmothers second husband to have passed on due to illness. She is perhaps hurting the most right now, so I am envisioning that the rest of her days be filled with grace, beauty, and ease.
