Thank you to Emma Cookes for nominating me, but as i did the pouring of the bucket on you, Ill let you off... :-p After reading up on M.N.D. (Motor Neuron Disease) and the charity supporting it, I decided to except my Ice Bucket challenge M.N.D is a terrible condition, that affects a persons ability to move their muscles. As their nerve cells degenerate, they slowly lose their motor functions, starting from their hands, to their arms and legs, to eventually their jaw, throat and even their lungs, making it impossible to live unaided... And sadly most die in just little over 2 years after being diagnosed. There is no known cure and current treatment only serves to make people a little more comfortable... After reading the charitys report on how they are spending the money (available on on their website) I am happy to support this cause. To take this challenge with me, I nominate the characters Samuel and Eddie, played by my good friends Oly and Ashley, from their forth coming play The Heist, in which I co-star in. Im sure they can bring some comic relief... (btw, come check us out at the Southam Grange hall on the 19th + 20th of September with The Grange Players) Now a lot of people have complained about the waste of water, for this to be a waste, it would have no purpose, I believe this water has two purposes... 1: you wouldnt of clicked this video if it wasnt for it. 2: the ice water is supposed to induce similar effects to the condition itself, by shocking the nervous system and locking up the muscles... M.N.D. sufferers have to live with this, where as soon as Im warm and dry, Ill be back to normal.
