Thank you to every artist in the world for standing against a homogenizing tide; thanks to every poet and writer, for singing to us on our journeys, thanks to every person who finds patience for our many foibles and humor in great loss. Thank you to the ones who guard the soul of the world in daily, myriad ways, and to those who insist on seeing true beauty, not just ideas of beauty that come pre-packaged, or ideas of beauty that require an unreal stasis, so that never fade. Thank you to all those whos hearts hold room for more than themselves and their own in the world. Thank you for having manners:). And for calling up old wisdom and common sense before the Internet made us all a little crazy. Thank you for lighting up life, even as you struggle, and for knowing that sometimes, the wisest response is to laugh and cry at the same time! Thank you for just trying, day after day, as you face very scary or difficult things, not knowing what to do or where to turn, and thank you for trying to remember on bad days to save a smile for a stranger, to hold open a door, to do some small thing to shore up our world. You are not alone in these broken systems, or in way the world is tilted and darkly spinning, and your efforts, no matter how small or invisible, are more worthy than you know.
