Thank you to everyone for all the birthday wishes...a truly humbling experience to see them all. This years birthday will definitely be remembered for so many different reasons and emotions, one of which was having to lay to rest my Godmother. But, in all of the sadness and tears, some very self less acts took place that need to be shared. I walked into the church this morning to bid farewell to my aunt, and greeted my Uncle Bob and cousins already at the church. First, my cousin greets me with a hug and wishes me a happy birthday! What? A few minutes later, I see my other cousin who I need to talk to about the reading I will be doing, and she too leans in for a hug, wishes me a happy birthday, and then offers her apologies that we are having to be here doing this on my birthday. Huh? Why are you even thinking about me and my bday, and furthermore, why are you apologizing to me? These acts are a true reflection of the kind of person my Aunt Marge Sowa was and the kind of people she raised her children to be. On a day that they had to say their final goodbyes to their one of a kind mom, they were thinking of me and offering me birthday wishes! I just dont have the right words...self less, humbling, amazing?? In all honesty, it was a TOUGH day (ummm, clearly, based on the stellar delivery of my reading! LOL) but I cant think of a better way to celebrate my birthday than celebrating the life of one of my favorite people, Aunt Marge!! Thank you for thinking of me today Bob Sowa, Stacey Sowa Braun, and Sue Sowa Walton and solidifying and proving why I love my Ohio Family so very much! P.S. Bob, you are officially forgiven for locking me in the dog cage! :)
