Thank you to everyone for all your prayers and concern. A lot of you have asked for details so here goes. Matt and I had a scheduled ultrasound on Monday. The baby looked good, but my blood pressure was very high. The doctor admitted me here at Vassar to run tests. On Tuesday evening I was diagnosed with severe pre-eclampsia. The only option left at that point was delivery. Isaac was born via c-section at 11:29pm 7/15. He was 1lb 12 oz and 34.5 cm long (roughly 13inches) My surgery and recovery have gone exceptionally well. I feel excellent and they are continuing to monitor my blood pressure. They are expecting to discharge me tomorrow morning. Isaac was born at 27 weeks 5 days. He gave a small cry in the operating room before they intubated him. Their current focus for him at this point is allowing his lungs to mature. So far all his developments have been with in the norm for his age. For those of you who saw Matts picture, Isaac is under lights for his bilirubin which also very normal and expected. His status and health plan will change daily depending on how he is doing. There is no way of predicting for sure when he will come home, but the working time frame is his due date which was October 9. Matt has posted pictures on his page if you want to see Isaac.
