Thank you to everyone that attended the Tools for Schools press conference this afternoon at OGorman High School. The Home Builders Care Foundation has provided a matching grant to O’Gorman High School to purchase a new SawStop table saw (valued at approximately $4,500). An on-site demonstration on the equipment was put on by a representative from Stan Houston Equipment, who also supplied the SawStop Saw for the class. Students from the O’Gorman shop class also were in attendance at this press conference. The SawStop’s safety system detects when someone accidentally contacts the spinning saw blade, and then stops the blade in milliseconds — resulting in just a nick on a SawStop saw instead of the devastating injury.
