Thank you to everyone who submitted suggestions for the Fair theme. We congratulate Jennifer Morris for providing the winning theme concept! The 2015 Fair Theme is... Cowboy Boots & Local Roots! Read on for more information and another exciting announcement, heres our official press release. San Benito County Fair Announces Theme and 2015 Dates The Board of Directors of the 33rd District Agricultural Association, organizer of the San Benito County Fair, has announced the 2015 fair will expand from three to four days. Opening Thursday, October 1st and running through Sunday, October 4th, this year’s fair will offer an additional day of amusements, entertainment, exhibits, and other activities local residents and visitors have come to enjoy. In keeping with tradition, the weekend before will feature kick-off activities on the fairgrounds such as horse shows and rodeos. With the facility bustling with livestock shows in between the two weekends, the 2015 San Benito County Fair promises to be an event to experience. In conjunction with this announcement, Fair CEO/Manager Donnette Carter shared the results of the recent theme contest held via the Fair’s Facebook page. “We are excited to inform the community that our theme for 2015 will be ‘Cowboy Boots & Local Roots’ the concept of which was provided by Hollister resident Jennifer Morris. The Board gave thoughtful consideration to all of the submissions and felt this theme speaks not only to the agriculture and ranching heritage of the area, but also the importance of the local community’s role in the fair, and the roots from which our fair has grown.” For her winning submission, Morris will be awarded with complimentary entrance and parking through the run of the fair. Planning is well underway for all aspects of the 2015 San Benito County Fair, and Carter noted that many volunteer opportunities are available. Individuals may select to serve on one of the many fair committees, or sign-up to assist during the fair itself. Volunteer roles are plentiful and vary based on the interest of the individuals and the functions of the fair. Year-round volunteers are also welcome to work in the office or on the grounds at Bolado Park Event Center, home of the San Benito County Fair. For more information, please contact Carter at the Fair office, 831-628-3421.
