Thank you to the two Correctional Deputies for representing our agency in New York and thank you to Kevin R Schaal for sending us this Facebook message. I was hoping to post this message on your Facebook page so that every officer and community member could read it, please at least share it within your department if possible. Thank you. I am a retired New Jersey Law Enforcement officer who served over 31 years as a Patrol Officer and Detective. On Saturday December 27, 2014, I attended the funeral of NYPD P.O. Ramos. While there I met many officers I have served with over the years from various agencies and even one officer that I attended the academy with over 34 years ago who I had not seen since. As I have done in the past at many of these funerals I have unfortunately attended over the years, I take time to speak with and thank the officers from other agencies that have traveled a distance to come and honor our Brother/Sister officers that have fallen. I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with two Deputies from your agency, a Brother and Sister. I unfortunately do not remember their names but would like to let their Sheriff and Brothers and Sisters of the Santa Clara S.O. know that they represented your agency and community with dignity and respect. They were a pleasure to speak with and spend all be it only a few minutes of time with, but time I will not likely forget. Thank You Sheriff for allowing these two Deputies to attend the funeral of a Brother from so far away. It is obvious that the Thin Blue Line and the Brotherhood and Sisterhood of our profession is not lost by you and your members. God Bless and Stay Safe.
