Thank you to those who are trying to keep us in the loop by challenging us to pour ice water over our heads, to raise awareness for ALS. We are sympathetic to the cause but in good conscience can not waste good clean water. I am not trying to put a damper on things but I have come to recognize after a year in a third wold country that water is a blessing and should be valued. Clean water is a gift, a treasure and we should never take it for granted. Give thanks and praise God that you live in a country where you can go to a faucet and drink to your fill without worrying about becoming sick. Just last week three children died on the Ngobe reservation from drinking from their only source of water, the river. How could they know that the water had been polluted by chemicals. So many of our neighbors do not have running water and depend on the rivers and streams for water, to drink, bathe, wash dishes, clothes etc. My prayers are for all who suffer with any disease, and if I thought for one minute that pouring cold water over my head would cure them, I would sacrifice my personal portion . Thank you for allowing me to bring another life saving cause to you attention. Pray for those people all over the world who do not have the luxury of having water to drink.
