Thank you to those who have continued to support my efforts, this page and who have been encouraging me to run for a seat on the Leander ISD Board of Trustees. I will not seek a spot on the Board this year. While the major issue facing our community is unmanageable debt, and while the current Board of Trustees continues to remain silent on the issue, I believe there may be some progress being made. I remain cautiously optimistic that we are seeing a change in course with the 4/3 vote on the last bond sale, and with the Boards move away from 40-year CABs in favor of (comparatively) more conservative options such as a 5-year CIB for technology. For the last eighteen months this page has been presenting the facts, providing the research and analysis on the financial health of Leander ISD. There has not been a single challenge to the validity or accuracy of the data provided. I believe that this page and the information presented on it over the last year and a half has helped raise the awareness and is at least partly responsible for the 4/3 vote we witnessed at the last Bond sale. There are a number of citizens who have contributed to this page and they are the ones who deserve the credit for forcing the issue. I will continue to present facts, seek answers and push for greater fiscal responsibility in 2014. So long as Will Streit and Aaron Johnson continue to work towards reigning in our addiction to Capital Appreciation Bonds and restoring fiscal responsibility, I support them and encourage you to support them as well. The 2015 elections may be another story entirely.
