Thankful for my Granny- shes the rock of our family. Legitimately the strongest, toughest one of us all- to this day shell hunt a snake down with a spade and not think anything of it. Shes taught me a lot of things- gave me my first job when I was 8 or so. Taught me how to read body language- if her mouth was in a straight line, you better watch out or start working harder. Worked me hard, but nothing in comparison to what she took on. Would take my calls at 9PM telling her that, I forgot, I told everybody youd make a cake for tomorrow- is that okay? and never complained. And shes always got food in the freezer, because she never knows who is coming when- she might have nobody in the morning or she might have to feed 6. But shes never not been prepared for whatever amount. Shes one of the first people I call when I have a problem or a question about anything- because I know she probably has the answer. Shes very independent, and I think I take after her in that way. She never likes to owe anyone, so shes always doing favors when she can- Amen, Granny. Through it all, shes always taught me family and faith are most important, and the two things you can always depend on when youre in a bind. I have to tone myself down sometimes and remember that, and Im grateful she reigns me in sometimes and reminds me. I know everybodys grandparents are the best, and Im no different- but mine really is the best.
